Two times JUNO Nominee Cuban pianist and Composer Rafael Zaldivar studied with Barry Harris, Kenny Barron, and Herbie Hancock. He performed with jazz luminaries as Terri Lyne Carrington (multiple GRAMMY Award Winner), Roy Hargrove, Steve Coleman, Nate Smith, Ben Wendel, Ari Hoenig, Dan Weiss, Nir Felder, and Greg Osby; and recorded with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Miguel Zenón, and Ingrid Jensen among others. Zaldivar was invited by the (Berklee Music College, Boston) and (The Manhattan School of Music, New York) as a Visiting Artist in 2021 and 2022. Recently Zaldivar won the Second Award from the International Jazz Piano Competition in Jacksonville, Florida and he became a member of the jury for the 2023 JUNO Awards.
