Petr Cancura and Charlie Hunter have teamed up for two albums with a like-minded passion for grooves, melody and authentic music making. The first is Don’t Let It Stop!, a trio album with Geoff Clapp on drums and most recently, MOD CONS, an album inspired to recapture the heart and soul of 1940’s and 50’s rock ‘n roll is a trio endeavor with Memphis drummer George Sluppick, the new band member of the legendary Robert Cray Band.
For this exclusive concert Petr Cancura and Charlie Hunter will be joined by San Francisco drummer Scott Amendola.

Petr Cancura is a singular voice on the saxophone with a musical story inspired by jazz, blues, rock ‘n roll, Brazilian grooves, his East-European roots. Petr Cancura’s unique blend is apparent on recordings on his label Roots2Boot Recordings including Kenny Wollesen, Tony Scherr, Charlie Hunter, Richie Barshay and many more

Charlie Hunter plays a unique instrument called The Big Six, a hybrid bass and guitar instrument. Rooted in blues and roots but a profoundly individual voice in music today, Charlie has worked with Norah Jones, Mos Def, John Mayer, D’Angelo and countless others.

Composer, bandleader and a creative powerhouse drummer, Scott Amendola’s closest musical associates include guitarists Nels Cline, Jeff Parker, Charlie Hunter, Hammond B-3 organist Wil Blades, violinists Regina Carter and Jenny Scheinman, and clarinetist Ben Goldberg, players who have each forged a singular path within and beyond the realm of jazz.
